Green peas mushroom masala
This is purely a straight forward attempt to make my husband eat mushrooms. i am a great fan of mushrooms and i just love adding them in all recipes but he is completely opposite to me. He asks me to make any mushroom dish with invisible mushrooms :) but finally, i succeeded in my mission. He just loved green peas mushroom masala and to my surprise he emptied the bowl.
Ingredients
- green peas 1cup (soaked overnight)
- button Mushrooms 300g
- onions 2 no medium size
- tomatoes 3 nos pureed
- ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
- chopped green chillies 2 nos
- garam masala 1tbsp
- coriander powder 2tbsp
- red chilli powder 1tbsp
- cashewnut paste 2tbsp
- amchur powder a pinch
- cumin seeds 1tsp
- salt to taste
- canola oil 3tbsp
- cilantro few
- salt to taste
Method
- Pressure cook green peas for one whistle.
- heat 1tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the onions in it and grind it into a thick paste.
- Again heat 2tbsp of oil and splutter cumin seeds and saute garam masala, onion paste in it.
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chilllies . and then saute tomato puree in it till the oil separates from it. Add coriander powder, red chillli powder and fry well.
- add salt to taste along with chopped mushrooms, boiled green peas and a pinch amchur powder. Pour abouts 2cups of water and allow it to boil till the gravy becomes thick.
- add ground cashew nut paste and cook for another 3 minutes. put off the stove and garnish with cilantro before you serve.
