Mushroom manchurian




Mushrooms are my favourite ones and i just love the way my mother makes mushroom fry. hmmm... yummy!! It is a very good source of protein. I have also read in my college days that mushrooms contain anti aging factors and also certain factors to boost your immune system and has anti cancerous properties as well. Mushroom manchurian tastes very soft and juicy and it is the best combination for fried rice or vegetable noodles.

Ingredients for marinating mushroom
  • Button mushrooms 200g
  • corn flour 2tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1tbsp
  • ginger garlic paste 2tsp
  • soy sauce 2tsp
  • salt to taste
  • canola or sunflower oil 200ml for deep frying
Ingredients for dry fry
  • onion 1/2 cup
  • chopped ginger 2tsp
  • chopped garlic 2tsp
  • chopped green chilli 1tbsp
  • green chilli sauce 1tbsp
  • soy sauce 2tbsp
  • tomato sauce 2tbsp
  • spring onion 4tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • canola oil 2tbsp

Method
  • wash the mushrooms thoroughly and cut them into two halves. In a bowl, mix all the marinating ingredients along with the mushroom. allow it to marinate for half an hour.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry all the mushrooms for about 1minute.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a frying pan. Fry chopped onions, ginger, garlic, green chillies. Add all the three sauces and finally add the fried mushrooms.
  • Adjust salt to taste.
  • Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
